WELCOME

Welcome to the Anglican Diocese of Harare, in the Church of the Province of Central Africa. A Diocese which covers four of the Ten National Provinces, that is Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland West, Mashonaland East and Harare Metropolitan Province. We are a vibrant Diocese driven by our vision of being, “A growing united self-sustaining Anglican Diocese committed to living preaching and teaching the Gospel.” In an effort to attain this vision, we are guided by the Five marks of Mission together with recently pronounced Lambeth Calls.

We serve a population of more than 35,000 members and still growing, with over 230 prayer centres under 69 Parishes. The Diocese also runs a number of learning Institutions in form of Five Boarding Schools, Five Secondary and Eight Primary Schools, coupled with one Clinic established to provide Primary Health Care.

We strive to be a Church that operates on the basis of the three-fold purposes: the Exaltation of God, the Edification of the Saints, and the Evangelization of the world as deduced from Acts 2:42. The Diocese plays a pivotal role through a multi-faceted approach in communities we serve, by acting as spiritual centres, moral compasses, and societal safety nets.

Worship in our Churches and Institutions of learning is expected to create an atmosphere of Faith in the Lord, Hope for a better tomorrow, and Love for one another. Guilds were established to cater for all age groups and circumstances.
